on not sleeping in deheishe

so i was just about falling asleep when my friend called me 10 minutes ago. he lives about the equivalent of one block away in deheishe refugee camp. he called me because the israeli aggressive forces (iaf) had entered the camp, as the often do every night. to kidnap his next door neighbor–a 25 year old, in pflp, who has only been released from prison 3 or so months ago (see, this is what israelis do: they tell the world they are releasing prisoners “in good faith” and then they go around in the middle of the night kidnapping them and taking them back to jail.

i thought i had heard a sound bomb, but wasn’t sure. i can still hear the the 6 big army jeeps roaming down the jerusalem-bethlehem road. and the smell, sight, and effects of the tear gas grenades are now seeping into my room. the army jeeps are coming up and down the streets of the camp. they just kidnapped one more young man, another from pflp, my friend’s cousin.

more bombs, more “tear” gas. everyone is awake now. though no one has their lights on. i can hear people shouting in the streets and alleys behind ibdaa in deheishe.

UPDATE: ONE PERSON SHOT, ONE MORE KIDNAPPED. 4:11 AM. IAF GONE.

UPDATE: FOUR PEOPLE TOTAL KIDNAPPED–ALL PFLP. THE PERSON WHO WAS SHOT WAS ALSO KIDNAPPED BY THE IAF. 4:34 AM.
