disappearing ii

i meant to post this powerful poem by suheir hammad in her newest volume, breaking poems, last night. it is yet one more example of disappearance. here the poet figures herself as gaza. and as gaza she disappears. i won’t say more because i am in the midst of finishing a book review for a journal on the volume. you may read and feel and think for yourself.
